Türkiye introduces new rules to strengthen cryptocurrency regulation
Turkey is advancing cryptocurrency regulation, with new rules being developed for Cryptocurrency Asset Service Providers (CASPs). On March 13, the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB) issued two regulatory documents regarding the licensing and operation of CASPs, covering cryptocurrency exchanges, custodians, and wallet service providers. This regulatory framework grants the CMB comprehensive oversight of cryptocurrency platforms to ensure compliance with domestic and international standards. Additionally, the framework establishes standards and requirements for setting up and providing cryptocurrency services in Turkey, including registered capital, management backgrounds, shareholder rules, etc.
